What do you think of DoD permanently disqualifying recruits who have a previous COVID-19 diagnosis?

We should hold off until 1)We know the curve has flatten and is actually declining 2)We have a better handle on when and if a vaccine will be available. If after six months a vaccine is not on the horizon, allow those that come from areas of states with a declining curve to join, provided they are tested frequently (once every week or so) until a vaccine is available. Follow the science, not the politicians.

Covid-19---bone SPURS what's the difference

Why exclude “anyone”.
They let in those who have aids and hiv.

Not while the person has an active infection, but to say that a person who has had it in the past can never be allowed in? We let in people who have had measles, mumps, chicken pox, flu, colds, etc. The way this looks to be headed, we soon would have nobody eligible to enlist if anyone who has ever had it is excluded.

You called it right! This situation has been FUBAB, squared, from the start! No one knows anything about it, don't know how to treat it, don't know how to prevent it; yet, every state is acting like an independent nation with it's own little power hungry dictator trampling all over the US Constitution, unanimity, like these air heads were god blessed experts! Now, the DoD has risen to it's own level of total incompetency by permanently disqualifying recruits who have a previous COVID-19 diagnosis. Total idiocy! If the liberals have their way, the will declare the military "non-essential" and shut them down!

If they have had the Chinese bio-engendered weaponized virus and have beat it they would be a better recruit than those who have not had it.

Having had the virus should be a plus because of the acquired immunity associated with the infection.

We should wait and see about the residual effects and the testing results in the effect of blood transfusions with COVID-19 anti-bodies. A temporary ban is OK, but I think a permanent ban is too much, too soon.

We need to keep up recruiting and training our armed forces.
We did not restrict qualifications after the 1817-1918 pandemic. Why should we now? Restart the draft if necessary to help our Country find itself

Correction 1917-1918.

Totally imprudent! We have no experience with this virus. We first should establish empirical evidence about Covid-19. We should always base our actions according to findings rather than act on logic, or theory.

If a recruit or current member of the military is asymptomatic they should be accepted and treated the same as everyone else. There are tens of millions of people in the country who would test positive for COVID-19 if testing were widespread, a large percentage of who have not and will not have any significant symptoms. History may well prove that shutting down the country for this pandemic was totally unnecessary.

If they tested positive for COVID-19, then they should be cleared with an X-ray by a licensed Pulmonologist that there’s no scarring present from the virus which could later lead to problems when they have to go into the gas chamber with their mask for qualification or other possible exposure problems. If there’s nothing to be found, then there shouldn’t be a problem Recruiting the individual unless the researchers find additional information of other health problems that are very likely to occur.

Get with it ALL!! Don't be so sour and exclude any military possible personnel! There are so many of Us veterans that are willing and able to jump back in and guess what?? The answer is NO! what a shame... we have the experience, not looking for anything except to go HELP!!! We don't want to be paid, just go help!!! That's SERVICE BUT DENIED!!! SO all we got to say is we been hurt and MANY OF US NOT Acknowledged, but WE are willing to help still!! That's HONOR and PRIDE but not U.S. Gov't as they help other countries!!! Metallica song ....
