Chicago Latino post celebrates first anniversary

American Legion Post 939 was created by Commander Marcos Torres as a way to bring together Latino veterans and serve their community. The post is named after Jason Vazquez, who was killed in Afghanistan in 2008. Torres was one of Vazquez’s close friends. On Oct. 16, the post celebrated their first anniversary, with special guests Past National Commander Richard Santos and Lisa Perez, the mother of Jason Vasquez.
