California American Legion member rows across the Atlantic to raise awareness of veteran suicide

Newport Harbor, California Post 291 member Robert Owens is part of an international team that will be attempting to row a 24-foot boat across the Atlantic from the Canary Islands to Antigua in the Caribbean. At 71, the Air Force veteran is oldest member of the crew, and he rows in memory of Mark Crampton, a Navy SEAL who died by suicide, and hopes to motivate fellow American Legion members to take part in The American Legion Be The One initiative, and to engage in fitness and wellness activities.
