Legion Membership Workshop, DSO School underway next week

American Legion department service officers and department-wide leadership will descend upon Indianapolis next week for conferences. Department Service Officers School will be held July 26-29 at The Columbia Club, while the 54th annual National Membership Workshop will be held July 28-29 at the Sheraton Indianapolis City Centre Hotel.

DSO School attendees will hear from speakers about military and VA records and clinical appeals, and will have sessions on topics such as appeals, pension and compensation claims, PTSD and Agent Orange. Click here to download the DSO School agenda.

Membership Workshop attendees will hear remarks from American Legion National Commander Charles E. Schmidt; leading candidate for 2017-2018 national commander Denise Rohan of Wisconsin; Col. Robert Trayers Jr., vice commander of Air Force Recruiting Service; and others. During the two-day workshop, attendees will break out into sessions focused on membership training. The training on www.mylegion.org will be hands on, and attendees are encouraged to bring their own laptops/tablet.
