55th annual Membership Workshop begins Aug. 9

The American Legion's 55th annual Membership Workshop will be held in Indianapolis, Aug. 9-11, at the Sheraton Indianapolis City Centre Hotel.

Membership Workshop attendees will hear remarks from American Legion National Commander Denise H. Rohan; leading candidate for 2018-2019 national commander Brett Reistad of Virginia; and Dave Rehbein, past national commander and chairman of the national 100th Anniversary Observance Committee.

During the workshop, attendees will break out into three sessions – long term membership planning, district commander and department membership chairman. During the sessions, attendees will focus on recruiting and retention; training initiatives; post operations; revitalization; emblem usage; growing membership through social media; the responsibilities and challenges of district commanders; and more.
