Veterans outreach effort set for Maine

Department of Maine Legionnaires are conducting district revitalization and veterans outreach efforts May 4-5 in Houlton and Madawaska, respectively. All wartime veterans in the area are invited to the event to learn more about American Legion programs and veteran benefits.

The efforts will take place from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. May 4 at American Legion Post 47, 184 Bangor St., Houlton; and from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. May 5 at American Legion Post 147, 353 Main St., Madawaska.

A veteran service officer will be available to assist area veterans with claims or other veteran benefit-related questions both days.
