133 Legionnaires earn awards for recruiting 7,355 new members

American Legion membership recruitment took on a new challenge starting in March when Americans nationwide adhered to the safety measures of sheltering in place and social distancing because of the coronavirus. Even with the challenges set before them, 133 Legionnaires recruited 7,355 new members into The American Legion for the 2019-2020 membership year.

There were 89 Gold Brigade winners who recruited 50 or more new members (not counting transfers), and 44 Silver Brigade winners who recruited 25-49 new members (not counting transfers) by the June 100-percent membership target date.

Silver Brigade and Gold Brigade awards cannot both be awarded to a recruiter during the same membership year. Silver Brigade recipients receive a silver pin and certificate. Visit here to see the level of awards that Gold Brigade recipients receive.
