Holland Area Veterans Memorial

Holland Area Veterans Memorial

The seven large special black marble stones were engraved with the names of veterans who served our country starting with the Civil War to the present. It identified their branch of service and war era. It sits in the Holland City park surrounded by beautiful landscaping. It is well maintained and adorned with flowers each Memorial Day. On Memorial Day people gather at the site accompanied by the Pipestone Area School band. From there, people who are able, walk to the cemetery for the annual Memorial Day service. It is a living memorial, leaving room for the names of more veterans, living and passed away. The purpose was to honor those who served our country. It was installed on November 20, 2007 and dedicated on May 31, 2010. Holland is a very small town of less than 200 residents.
