Allamakee County Veterans Memorial Monument.

The memorial monument is located on Allamakee County, Iowa, Courthouse lawn at 110 Allamakee Street, Waukon, Iowa 52172. Main monument front contains KIAs from WWI,WWII, Korea, Vietnam, and Grenada. Reverse side contains those killed non-battle and those who were POW/MIA. Plaza contains 1431 engraved bricks containing the names of local veterans, branch of service and era served. Two sizes of bricks, 4x7" and 8x8". Some of the larger size bricks contain more than one name so we have a total of 1652 names. Also there are three impressive flagpoles: US, POW, and state flags.
