Elburn Veterans Memorial

A Patton M60-A3 TTS Main Battle Tank was dedicated on a vacant lot next to Village Hall in Elburn, Illinois on Veterans Day November 11, 2002. The Tank was named the Elburn Veterans Memorial. The memorial and landscaping around the site was the result of an Eagle Scout Project by Matt Huml from Troop 7 in Elburn. Plans are under way at this time to dedicate the entire lot and rename it "Elburn Veterans Memorial Park". There are two bronze plaques currently located at the American Legion Post, one honoring those from Elburn that served in WWI and WWII, and the other honoring those from Elburn who died in those wars. Once the process of dedicating and renaming the park are complete, the plaques will be moved to the park. Plans for additional memorials to be erected in the park are in the beginning stages.
