Ely Area Veterans Memorial

This memorial is a thirty feet diameter circle with the flag pole in the center, and the Baatan Death March (with the names of the seven men from Ely, Minnesota) one died in captivity and one died on a torpedoed hell ship. On the perimeter are ten individual monuments spaced evenly starting with the Spanish American War up to the present wars and conflicts. The approach is sixteen feet wide lined with six flag poles representing the five service branches and the Merchant Marine.
