Custer County Veteran's Memorial

Custer County Veteran's Memorial

This three-stone memorial is a tribute to Custer County soldiers who died in any of the five American wars: Civil War, World War I, World War II, Korea and Vietnam. This memorial at Heritage Park in Weatherford, Oklahoma honors those who served and died. The three panels list the different wars and the sponsors of the monument. Flags are flown next to the memorial, and a static artillery is displayed here as well. The bricks honoring veterans are raised from the rest of the walkway. The memorial is sponsored by County VFW Posts and by various donors whose names are inscribed on bricks at the base of the memorial. This tribute to our military history was unveiled and dedicated in Weatherford’s Heritage Park on July 4, 1993. Sponsored by: Weatherford VFW Post 6143 Clinton VFW Post 4465 Thomas VFW Post 5914
