The Persian Gulf War Memorial

The Persian Gulf War Memorial

The Persian Gulf War Memorial was erected in March 2011 and dedicated in April 2011 to commemorate all who have served their country in the Persian Gulf War. The memorial measures approximately four feet in height and fourty-five feet in diameter. The face of the monument displays individual 8 ½" square granite tiles bearing the image of each fallen HERO of the Persian Gulf War. Along with the image are displayed the veteran's name, rank, hometown and dates of service. The Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery (MVMC) was made possible by a grant from the Department of Veterans Affairs to the State of Mississippi, authorizing the State to operate and maintain the Veterans Cemetery. Our first interment occurred July 5, 2011.
