Lt. Jake W. Lindsey Highway, Medal of Honor

Lt. Lindsey was awarded the 100th Congressional Medal of Honor given in World War II. Presented by President Truman, Lindsey was the only recipient to ever receive the award before a Joint Session of the Congress. The marker was erected in 1984 by the Mississippi Department of Archives and History. The Marker is located in Waynesboro, Mississippi, in Wayne County. Marker is at the intersection of Turner Street (State Highway 63) and Azalea Drive (State Highway 184), on the right when traveling south on Turner Street.
