Liberty Plaza

Liberty Plaza

Liberty Plaza in Farmers Branch, Texas has a 30’ X 60’ flag of the United States of America that is prominently displayed at the focal point of the plaza on a 150’ tall flag pole. The City of Farmers Branch honored not only its commitment to beautification, but also to the heroism and patriotism of the sons and daughters of Farmers Branch, with the dedication of a new place to rest, reflect and celebrate America and those that have defended our freedom. The plaza includes the Farmers Branch Walk of Honor, a memorial that “is dedicated to the Farmers Branch men and women and family members who answered the call to protect our country.” The Walk of Honor includes the names of 422 brave men and women that have served in all branches of the service. The Walk of Honor includes five plaques that briefly describe World War I, World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and the Gulf War. There are two polished granite benches with a statue of Poppy sitting on one of the benches at the end of the walk with the inscription ”GREATER LOVE HATH NO MAN THAN THIS THAT A MAN LAY DOWN HIS LIFE FOR HIS COUNTRY” There are thirteen plaques on monuments that commemorate significant dates in U.S. Military History at Liberty Plaza.
