Archer Lodge Veterans Memorial

Archer Lodge Veterans Memorial

The Archer Lodge Veterans Memorial is designed to honor all veterans of all wars. The project took nearly five years to complete. There is some minor landscaping before the memorial is finished. The Town of Archer Lodge donated the land for the memorial. The memorial committee raised much of the money necessary for the project the old fashioned way - with food. Every month, there was a ham or sausage biscuit sale to raise money. Near the end of the project, the County of Johnston chipped in $35,000 to help with the flagpoles. The community of Archer Lodge started as a masonic lodge in the 1850's and is one of the oldest in the State of North Carolina.
