Distinguished Flying Cross Memorial Miramar
The vertical memorial is made of polished black Goldstar (Galaxy) granite with a color depiction of the Distinguished Flying Cross. Appearing above the engraved DFC medal are the words: HONORING THOSE AWARDED THE DISTINGUISHED FLYING CROSS. Beneath the DFC medal are the words exemplifying the purpose of the award: ".... for heroism or extraordinary achievement while participating in an aerial flight" The base is also polished black Goldstar (Galaxy) granite with the words: DONATED BY THE SAN DIEGO LINDBERGH CHAPTER OF THE DISTINGUISHED FLYING CROSS SOCIETY
