Deane S. Van Dyke, Jr. Memorial

Granite monument in honor of US Army Private First Class Deane S.Van Dyke, Jr. (6/16/1944 - 4/28/1966). A resident of Delmont, Pennsylvania, PFC Van Dyke served with C Company. 2nd Battalion, 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division (The Big Red 1). He was critically wounded in the Battle of Xa Cam My on 4/11/1966 and succumbed to his injuries on 4/28/1966. He is buried in nearby Twin Valley Memorial Park. On the Vietnam memorial wall in Washington, DC, Van Dyke's name can be found on Panel 7E, Line 6.
