Latimer County Memorial, Wilburton, Oklahoma

Memorial is located on the front of the east entrance to the Latimer County Courthouse. This red granite vertical slab memorial was constructed to honor those who died in battle. The top of the granite slab has these words: “Greater Love Hath No man Than That He Lay Down His Life Latimer County Men who Died in Battle” World War I lists 13 names World War II lists 56 names Korea lists 7 names Vietnam lists 8 names Somalia has one name Below the names is the American Revolution Bicentennial 1776-1976 logo and the Veterans of Foreign Wars logo. VFW constructed the monument.
