The Veterans Plaza, Brunswick, Maine

The Veterans Plaza, Brunswick, Maine

The Veterans Plaza was constructed on the Town Mall in Brunswick, Maine. The plaza is dedicated to all veterans and the Merchant Marines from the Revolutionary War to Present. The plaza consists of a memorial to all veterans, a Purple Heart monument, and 12 centennials, representing the 12 major conflicts that the United States has been involved that circle the plaza where honor blocks have been laid. The Veterans Plaza is open 24/7 for anyone to pay respect or to reflect on what people have paid to protect our country. As stated on the dedication plaque," A Place to Honor and Reflect". The plaza mission serves to remind us of the service and sacrifice made by our Armed Forces and the Merchant Marines throughout our history, and acknowledge their contributions to the well-being of our society".
