Veterans Plaza at Allen County War Memorial Coliseum

Veterans Plaza at Allen County War Memorial Coliseum

Veterans Plaza is located at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The plaza brings together the Korean War-era F-84F Thunderstreak airplane, an eternal flame, the anchor from USS Indiana, and other memorials all together in one place at the northwest corner of the property. Veterans Plaza, in conjunction with the Memorial Hall at the coliseum, honors soldiers from Allen County who fought in the following wars: WWI, WWII, Vietnam War, Korean War, Persian Gulf War and American Civil War. The coliseum hosts annual events to honor local veterans and fallen soldiers on Memorial Day, Veterans Day and Pearl Harbor Day. Each memorial was installed on a different date, but the plaza was officially dedicated in a ceremony on Sunday, Nov. 7, 2015.
