Kenneth P. Makowski

Kenneth Makowski, 77, of Chandler, Ariz., passed away May 13, 2013. Ken was born June 8, 1935 in Denver to Alexander S. and Rose K. Makowski, who he was preceded by in death. Ken is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Phyllis M. Makowski of Chandler; his children: Kelly M. Johnson of Parker, Colo., Lori L. Gustafson of Chandler, Michael J. Makowski of Arvada, Colo., Linda S. Okonowski of Queen Creek, Ariz., and Kimberly R. Stratman of Chandler; 12 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild. Ken served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in 1957. Ken was a retired teacher, coach, professional golfer and restaurant owner who also worked in the investment/sales industry as well asiInsurance. He enjoyed golf, football and wrestling. Ken was a part of The American Legion, Elks, VFW and the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. A private service will be held on June 28, 2013. Arrangements entrusted to Meldrum Mortuary.
