Eugene V. Del Nero

Eugene V. Del Nero, 87, of Rome, N.Y., passed away Monday, Oct. 26, 2015 at Bethany Gardens. He was born in Rome on Dec. 13, 1927, son of the late Martial and Alie Mariani Del Nero. Gene served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. On May 14, 1955, in Utica, N.Y., he was united in marriage to Jean M. Pugh. Gene retired from the Frigid Flow Co. in 1989. He was a member of The American Legion, Rome Elks Club, Disabled Veterans, R.A.S., NAWCC, EKA of New York and PA., and RSES.
Surviving besides his wife Jean are two sons, Dale (Andrea) Del Nero, Endicott, N.Y., and Gary Del Nero (Trudy Russell), Rome; four grandchildren, Gary Del Nero Jr., Alana Del Nero, Eric Del Nero and Elia Del Nero; and one great-grandchild, Jaxson Del Nero. Also surviving are a brother, Roger Del Nero and his wife Elsie, Rome, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Dorothea Harvey.
