Jerome B. Chapman

Jerry "Chappie" Chapman served in World War II on USS Teal in the North Pacific from 1943-45 as Electrician's Mate, Second Class. He was born and raised in West Bend, Wis., where he became a police officer for the City of West Bend upon his return from WWII until his retirement in the late '70s. In his retirement years, he worked for a local business and became a bailiff for Washington County. He enjoyed being a "snowbird" and spending winters in Mesa, Ariz., until recently. He was a remarkable man who lived a long and wonderful life and will be missed deeply by his family and the citizens of West Bend.
