Dr. Wayne G. Harris

Wayne G. Harris, 82, of Marlborough, formerly of Framingham, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Wednesday, June 29, 2016. Born in Alexandria, Minn., he grew up in Marshall, Minn., and later Sioux Falls, S.D. He was the beloved husband for 62 years of Jane A. Hackett Harris.
Wayne served in the U.S. Army with the rank of Sergeant First Class during the Korean War and received his BS, MS and Ph.D. From Purdue University.
He taught in the college of pharmacy at South Dakota State University and North Dakota State University. Wayne then pursued a career in nuclear pharmaceuticals at N.I.H. in Bethesda, Md., and later New England Nuclear/DuPont in Boston.
Besides his wife, Wayne is survived by his loving daughters, Jane and her partner Maureen Walsh of Natick, and Susan K. Massucco and Dan of Northborough; three grandchildren, James, Benjamin and Kate; his nephew Tom Watson of CA, one sister, Audrey Toohey of OH, and one brother, Richard Precher of CA.
