Arnold M., 91, died peacefully in his sleep on May 31, 2016, at Dellridge Nursing Home in Paramus, N.J. He is survived by Gloria, his wife of 35 years, five children and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Ruth, his brother Larry and daughter Susan. Arnold was born on Aug. 27, 1924 in Paterson, N.J. He graduated from Eastside High School in Paterson. He joined the U.S. Army and served in the Military Police. After completing his military service in World War II, Arnold opened a camera store in Hackensack, N.J. He provided crime scene photographic services to the Bergen County Sheriff's Office. That launched a long 50+ year career in the investigative field, where he put his photo skills to work. He was a governor-commissioned New Jersey state detective and helped organize the Mounted Units of the Bergen, Rockland and Orange County sheriff's departments and is a retired Rockland County officer. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. Arnold was a social, active man who enjoyed horses, boating, fishing, photography and travel.
