John W. Czuchry

John joined the Marines in 1962. He was proud to serve his country. John worked for 3M for 15 years. I met john at 3M. He trained me on the machines. We started dating in July 1982. John left 3M to start his own tax business, Taxesdaytimenighttimeanytime. He was in business for himself for 44 years. He loved doing taxes and met many people. I helped John with his taxes. John and I had two wonderful grandsons together, Finnley, now 13, and Jack, now 11. Finnley is joining ROTC next year. He's going to follow in his grandfather's footsteps and join the Marines. He wants to make his grandfather proud. John loved to fish and go up north. He loved building fires. He loved to sit out on the deck after dinner. We'd sit and talk and watch the birds and things. John and I were together 34 years, 11 months and 2 weeks. We spent our whole life together. John was at the Minnesota VA. They made a terrible medical error which took his life. John died on June 21, 2016, in my arms. He is buried at Fort Snelling Cemetery in Minnesota. I think John was a member of The American Legion for over 43 years, could be longer. There is not a day that I don't miss him. He was the love of my life and always will be. We were like two peas in a pod. He knew what i was thinking and I knew what he was thinking. Thank you for letting me tell his story. I know there is more but this is what i wanted to say. May he rest in peace.
You will always be by my side and always in my heart, John.
