John Roka

John "BeBe" Roka, 85, of Fair Lawn, N.J., passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2017. Born in Pennsylvania and raised in Oradell, N.J., he resided in Paramus before moving to Fair Lawn over 25 years ago. A proud U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War where he served in the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit, he was a life member of American Legion Post 170 of Rochelle Park and Gold Circle and life member of V.F.W. Post 6699 of Paramus. A competitive and accomplished rifle marksman, he was an NRA-certified instructor, a Distinguished Rifleman with the United States Army Service Rifle Team and a life member of the Military Marksmanship Association. As a member of the Army Marksmanship Unit, BeBe was the recipient of numerous commendations including the Distinguished Rifleman badge and being recognized in 1957 as a Nationally Distinguished Rifle shooter as well as winning the National Individual Rifle Match. He continued high-power rifle matches throughout his life. He was also a member of Elks Lodge #2001 in Paramus and a Worshipful Master of Masonic Lodge 293 of Paramus. John enjoyed airbrushing and spending time with family and friends.
He was employed as a HVAC technician with Cold Stat Refrigeration in Paramus. Loving and devoted father of John Roka and wife Jean and Julie Miller and husband Dave, and stepfather of Robert Revicki and wife Carol Ann, the late James B. Revicki and the late Kevin W. Revicki and surviving wife Jennifer. Cherished grandfather of Sean J. Roka, Thomas Roka, Austin Bair and Siobahan Miller. Dear brother of the late Michael Roka.
