Chris Schaffert

Chris Emil Schaffert Jr., 86, a lifelong resident of Carlstadt, passed away on May 25, 2017. Mr. Schaffert served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. For 30 years he worked for Bell Atlantic in Clifton as a cable splicer and retired at 56. He also was the proprietor of C&S Railings of Carlstadt for 15 years. Chris was a member of the Carlstadt V.F.W. Post 3149, The American Legion of Rochelle Park, the Moose Lodge 1406 and the Telephone Pioneers of America. He also was an avid bowler. Beloved husband of the late Sarah (nee Kovach) Schaffert. Loving father of Chris W. Schaffert and his wife Karen. Cherished grandfather of Kevin Schaffert. Dear brother of Ruth Knight and the late Robert Schaffert and Gladys Tuttle.
