Donald E. Wills

Donald E. Wills, 70, of Hendersonville, Tenn., passed away peacefully on Monday, July 3, 2017, surrounded by his family. Donald is survived by his wife Vicki Wills; three sons, Matthew Wills (Erin), Jacob Wills and Benjamin Wills; and one brother, Phil Wills Jr. (Brenda). Donald is preceded in death by his former wife, Patricia Wills; and one sister, Bettye Elaine.
Donald was a 1964 graduate of Maplewood High School. After high school, Donald joined the Navy where he served working with electronic mechanics aboard USS Oriskany. In 1969, Don left the Navy and pursued a career in telecommunications. Don worked for Bellsouth/AT&T for 45+ years in both telecommunications and management, retiring in 2015. Donald was considered a strong leader and was well loved by his co-workers. Outside of work, Donald was actively involved with his family and church. His leadership ability continued on outside his work life by being actively involved in Scouting and coaching sports teams with his sons when they were growing up. Even at 70 he was rock climbing in Arizona. Donald was a member of Grassland Heights where he served as a deacon and was involved with the children and senior ministries, then became a member of First Baptist Church in Hendersonville. Above all, Donald will best be remembered for his love for his family and friends and his faith in Christ.
