Robert E. McFeeters

Robert McFeeters, 93, and Cleda McFeeters, 93, continued their eternal journey, passing nine days apart, to the minute, at 5:29 pm on November 16 and November 25, 2018. A joint service to celebrate their remarkable love and lives will be held at 11 am on Friday, March 15 at Our Lady of the Desert Catholic Church at the Redemptorist Renewal Center, 7101 W. Picture Rocks Rd, Tucson, AZ 85743. They said it was “love at first site.” It was 1946. They were married at Assumption Catholic Church in Topeka, Kan., on October 21, 1946. Throughout the years, he frequently introduced her as “his bride” and “the most beautiful girl in the world.”
They had a very special celebration on October 21, 2018 for their 72nd wedding anniversary in Tucson with their family, which will be a very special memory.
Robert was born February 2, 1925 in Kingman, Kan. He was a WWII Navy veteran and longtime American Legion member. He worked for the State of Kansas as an architect for over 36 years. Cleda was born November 17, 1925 in Topeka. She was a nurse at St. Francis Hospital, and then an active volunteer for many years at Northwest Hospital
in Tucson when she retired. They will be interred together at Marana Cemetery, Marana, AZ, where they will have forever views of the gorgeous Arizona sunsets they so enjoyed since they retired there in 1988.
Robert & Cleda are survived by their children; Sandra Chebo (Topeka), Judy (Keith) Payne (Castle Rock, CO), Rick (Becky) McFeeters (Tucson), Cindy (David) Hefley (Tucson), 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
We are deeply grateful for Casa de la Luz (House of Light) Hospice, who surrounded our family with love and gave them both a beautiful and spiritual passage. You may donate to them in Bob & Cleda’s name at: https://casafoundation.org/ways-to-give/donations.
They loved the beautiful and spiritual surroundings of their Catholic church in Tucson. If you’d like to have a Mass said in their name: http://desertrenewal.org/our-lady-of-the-desert-church.
