Gerald W. Anton

Gerald (Jerry), 95, of Paramus, passed away on Saturday, April 3, 2021. He was born in Jersey City to a large family with nine children. Jerry was a member of the U.S. Navy and served our country proudly on the destroyer USS Richard P. Leary during WWII.
Before retirement, Jerry was self-employed in a custom auto upholstery business in Englewood, N.J. He was a member of Paramus Elks Lodge #2001, VFW - Paramus Memorial Post 6699, Rochelle Park (N.J.) American Legion Post 170, and Disabled Veterans of America - Northern Valley Chapter #32. Jerry was also an active member of the Paramus Senior Citizens #1 Club where he enjoyed taking part in many activities, including bocce and card playing with his many friends there. His other interests included golf, classic movies, and following his favorite sports of baseball, football and golf, along with the stock market. Trips with his beloved wife, Bunny, during retirement made wonderful memories for him.
Cherished husband of the late Bernice (nee Bragen - 2012). Beloved father of Gerald Anton and his wife Mary Lou of Mountainside, N.J, Michele Cahill and her husband Bill of Ho-Ho-Kus, N.J., David Anton and his wife Cristie of Friendswood, Texas, Glenn Anton and his wife Ami of Warwick, N.Y., Janine Benigno and her husband Chuck of Mahwah, N.J., and Carolyn Andress and her husband Warren of Hazlet, N.J. Treasured grandfather of Kevin, Kristin, Kimberly, Glenn, Christopher, Casey, Alicia, Nicholas, Shannon, Victoria, Brian, Jaclyn, Warren and Matthew, and great-grandchildren Hunter, Brandon, Violet and Brooks.
Interment will be held privately at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.
