John M. Van Den Berg

John M. Van Den Berg, 78, passed away on Friday, Oct. 28, 2022.
He was born April 20,1944 in Paterson, N.J., to the late Jean (nee Wood), and the late Gustave Van Den Berg.
John married Karin (nee Paino) on Dec.12,1965, and resided in Paterson and raised their three children in Hawthorne, N.J.
For many years he worked as a chemical operator, then as a foreman, at Givaudan Corporation in Clifton, N.J.
John proudly served in the Army in active duty and as a reservist for over 25 years, and was a member of American Legion Post 170 in Rochelle Park, N.J., where he volunteered doing activities for military veterans.
Traveling with his wife for many years and spending time with his family are what John enjoyed the most. He cherished being around his grandchildren and proudly attending their many activities.
He was predeceased by his loving sisters Ada May Mahn, Jean Lilman and Darlene Mahn, and his loving brothers Gustave Van Den Berg and William Van Den Berg.
John is survived by his beloved wife Karin of Oak Ridge, N.J.; his loving children Laura Van Den Berg and her husband Tim, Lisa (Van Den Berg) Rugel and her husband Franz, Karl Van Den Berg and his wife Amy; a proud grandfather to Jared Cooney, Julia Van Den Berg, Jake Van Den Berg, Matthew Rugel and Carolyn Rugel; and a cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews.
