Nov. 11, 1919. The Nov. 7 edition of The American Legion Weekly comments that "The American Legion will come into formal existence next week. Its official birth occurs November 11—American Legion Day—at the charter convention in Minneapolis." And the Legion hasn't stopped since. The Legion's Digital Archive contains an ever-growing stock of past magazines and other publications.
