Some of the pages from the hand-written notes created by Past National Commander Harry Colmery. Colmery was asked by the Legion's GI Bill Committee to consolidate all of the proposals for post-war veterans re-adjustment into a single piece of legislation. Much of his work was done on Mayflower Hotel stationery. Because of the GI Bill's great effect on the social fabric of the United States these original papers are among the most important documents of American history.
