OCW Facebook page launched

Operation Comfort Warriors, National Commander James Koutz’s primary fundraiser during his tenure, now has a presence on Facebook. The page debuted last week and already has picked up more than 110 "likes."

The page features links to OCW stories, videos and photos, as well as to the program’s online donation page. Those who "like" the page are urged to share the page with their Facebook friends.

OCW donations are used to supplement the high-quality care provided at most military hospitals and transition units in the United States and abroad. Items include loose-fitting sweatsuits for burn victims, exercise equipment and entertainment in the form of DVDs, CDs and more.

All of OCW’s administrative and marketing costs are paid for by the Legion’s general fund, meaning that 100 percent of donated funds go directly to purchasing comfort items for the troops.

Don’t forget to follow The American Legion on Facebook. The organization’s various pages can be accessed through the National Headquarters page.
