Freedom Car runs at O'Reilly Raceway Park

Team Johnson Motorsports and Freedom Car driver Jerick Johnson brought the 76 Freedom Car to Indianapolis on June 13 for a weekend tribute to America’s veterans, and survivors of the USS Indianapolis disaster.

Johnson raced his way to victory at O’Reilly Raceway Park in Clermont, Ind., by winning the Last Chance 15-lap General Motors Performance Parts Shootout. The win propelled the Freedom Car team into victory lane for the first time in 2009.

“I wanted to do well in front of our American Legion fans, especially because we carried the USS Indianapolis decal on the hood of the Freedom Car,” Johnson said. “Our victory in the shootout gave us the confidence we could be competitive. ”

The Freedom Car is scheduled to run in these upcoming 2009 ASA Challenge Race Series Schedule:
