Legion, Soldier’s Wish headed to Milwaukee

The American Legion will be joining Soldier’s Wish at the Summerfest Music Festival in Milwaukee, July 6-7, for their fourth Salute & Serve Our Nation’s Heroes event together. The two organizations will have a tent set up next to HISTORY’s 80-foot Cross-Country Cookout Ultimate Smoker and Grill to speak with veterans and active-duty military personnel about their relationship and about Legion membership benefits.

The two-day event is from noon - 6 p.m. (CDT) at Henry Maier Festival Park, 200 N. Harbor Dr. Trace "The Rib Whisperer" Arnold, owner-operator of the 80–foot Ultimate Smoker and Grill, will be drawing in large crowds with his free smoked sausage, and Legion staff and Soldier’s Wish spokeswoman Paige Duke will be on site to hand out Legion and Soldier’s Wish brochures, answer questions and take nominations for wishes to be granted to soldiers and veterans.

• July 29-31 – Oshkosh Airventure; Oshkosh, Wis.
• Aug. 4-6 – Sturgis Motorcycle Rally; Sturgis, S.D.
