American Legion Post 110 (Virginia Beach, Va.) remembers POW/MIAs at ceremony

American Legion Post 110 Legionnaires participated in the POW/MIA Remembrance Ceremony held at the Flame of Hope Memorial near NAS Oceana, Virginia Beach, Va., on Sept. 22, 2022. Sponsoring the event was the commanding officer of NAS Oceana, Capt. Bob Holmes, USN. Assisting him with the program was Capt. Steve Djunaedi, USN; executive officer Cmdr. Jeff Parks, USN; and command chaplain and Command Master Chief Dre Beaufort. Attending the ceremony and laying memorial wreaths were various military service organizations from the Tidewater area. American Legion Post 110 was represented by Post Chaplain Dave Smith, Post Chaplain (Emeritus) George Schmidt, Sgt. at Arms Jeff Kocab and Post Historian Bert Wendell Jr. Taps was sounded by Cmdr. Parks.
