Memorial Day 2021

Memorial Day 2021

Hampton (S.C.) American Legion Post 108 celebrated Memorial Day on the county courthouse grounds with a crowd of about 75 citizens in attendance. Post Commander Tom Watson, still smartly fitting into his Army dress captain’s uniform, called for colors to post. The Wade Hampton High School Navy Junior ROTC marched out smartly under the direction of retired 1st Sgt. Don DeLoach. He is also chaplain of Post 108.
Murphy Winn placed the POW/MIA sleeve over the empty memorial seat placed in a position of honor.
Robert Brown took the podium and addressed the crowd with a moving speech.
DeLoach delivered the parting prayer, and the crowd was dismissed.
