Memorial Day in Saint Regis, Mont.

Memorial Day in Saint Regis, Mont.

Every Memorial Day is honored with a 3-part ceremony put on by the members of Ray Welch Post 13. Wreaths are placed at flagpoles at Mullan Square and the local cemetery, and a wreath is cast into the Saint Regis River. A 3-round salute is fired and a prayer spoken at all 3 locations. Public attendance is encouraged and the ceremony is well-attended, as there are normally many people in town for the yearly flea market who appreciate this public display of patriotism and honoring our veterans.
