Ocean Springs Post 42 to create Pershing Square

Post 42 in Ocean Springs, Miss., is sponsoring a fundraising drive to create a Pershing Square honoring all living and deceased veterans who served in the military preserving our freedom. If you want to honor your service, a grandfather, uncle, father, brother, son, daughter or spouse who served in the military (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, Merchant Marine or National Guard) preserving our freedoms since World War I, now is your opportunity.
Post 42 - along with its Auxiliary unit and Sons squadron - is offering engraved pavers with the names and branch of service to create a Pershing Square in front of the Emile Ladnier World War I Monument, facing the Mary C. O'Keefe Art Center at 1600 Government St.
Funds raised will also be used to refurbish the monument with landscaping, a light that will illuminate the American flag 24/7, and benches in front of the monument, to be dedicated in the spring of 2016. All funds above those required will be given to the city to refurbish all veteran monuments in Ocean Springs.
