Post 216 performs Honor Guard at Great Lakes Cemetery

On Saturday, April 2, 2016, Great Lakes National Cemetery hosted a Vietnam Era Veterans Commemoration Service, and Milford American Legion Post 216 had the distinct honor to lead the service. The firing team and Taps were provided by Post 216 and a combined color guard consisting of Post 216 and Amvets Post 2006 with the colors. It was considered a high honor for us to be requested to perform this, which covers all of southeast Michigan.
This is our 122nd national cemetery and has over 30,000 veterans and family interred. Our post provides military honors an at average of 120 funerals per year and close to 40 color guard events every year.
