An all-service family

An all-service family

Starting with World War I, a great-uncle was a doughboy in France. In World War II an uncle was a U.S. Marine in the central Pacific. My father-in-law served in the U.S. Coast Guard. During the Vietnam War I served as a U.S. Army platoon leader. The war on terrorism: one son in the U.S. Air Force, one son in the U.S. Marine Corps and a grandson in the U.S. Navy. All of them joined out of a sense of duty to serve our country. Combat and hostile fire were faced by all members of our family who chose to serve before they were called.
