My grandson now makes the 5th continuous family member to serve in the military. My grandfather was in World War I; my father in World War II; and I am retired from the Navy as a QMC. My son is in the National Guard, and now my grandson is in the Guard.
My great-great-grandfather was in the Civil War and fought in the last battle; I have his diary from the war.
