During the 2021 American Legion Department of Louisiana convention held in Alexandria June 17-20, Sgt. Blake Bergeaux (left) of the Jennings Police Department was recognized as the 2019-2020 Department of Louisiana Law Enforcement Officer of the Year. Bergeaux was nominated for the award by Post 19 from Jennings and the Department of Louisiana 7th District. Shown presenting the award is 7th District Commander Glenn McFarlain (right). The Department of Louisiana did not have a convention last year because of the COVID pandemic, so recognition for this award was made at this year’s convention.
