Broussard is Department Educator of the Year

During the American Legion Department of Louisiana Convention held in Alexandria June 2-5, Krisinda Broussard received the department’s Educator of the Year Award. She was nominated by Post 225 in Church Point. Broussard is a 2012 graduate of the University of Louisiana at Lafayette College of Education. Throughout her career she has taught 4th- and 5th-grade language arts. For the 2020-2021 school year she was asked to work as a virtual teacher for the Acadia Parish A+ Campus to assist students who chose to go virtual during the COVID pandemic. In 2019 she was nominated by her principal and instructional assistant to earn an additional certification as an English Language Arts Content Leader. She is now able to assist other teachers in improving their teaching abilities as well. She is a member of the faculty of Church Point Elementary School. She is a gifted educator, and we are proud to recognize her as our Department Educator of the Year.
