Heroes all around me and angels in my pocket

Heroes all around me and angels in my pocket

I’m 72 years old now. I had many stints, a defibrillator and a stroke just before the pandemic. I work with Vietnam vets and people who love restoring helicopters: the heroes of Vietnam who where pilots, mechanics, door gunners and medics.
On Nov. 11 I had that defibrillator shock me 20 times over about five hours. In four of those, my heart had totally stopped. I could not be more scared and exhausted. The Angels of Banner Baywood Hospital got me through it. In a time where everybody is pushed to their limits, they helped get through my life-saving event. As I always say, “IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE.”
