Pioneer Award presented in Missouri's 10th District

Despite the many issues facing recruitment these days, two members of Missouri's 10th District set out to defy the odds and build a brand-new post, to better benefit the wants and needs of members in their community.

Missouri Post 302 was then chartered and has been moving forward ever since. It's a different type of post with a different type of program, one which has been getting momentum in the area.

For their devotion, dedication and determination, Post 302 founding members Edward Ucinski III and Robert Johnson were presented the Pioneer Award. This is a national award bestowed upon those who successfully charter a new American Legion post. The award was presented to them at Post 302's first official meeting, by the senior vice commander of the Department of Missouri, Gary Grigsby. It was a wonderful way to thank those who continue the mission of The American Legion.
