Post 19 wins two state-level media awards

During the 101st Annual Convention of the American Legion Department of Louisiana, which was held in Alexandria from June 6-9, Department Commander Rickey Griffin (right) presented to Horace Naquin (second from right), commander of James O. Hall American Legion Post 19 from Jennings, the award for Outstanding Post Scrapbook in the State for posts with a membership under 300. Naquin acknowledged the exemplary efforts of Post 19’s Scrapbook Committee, composed of Glenn McFarlain, Mike Sanchez, Sam Doucet and Mindy Hetzel. Naquin also expressed appreciation for the tremendous support given by people and publications who published stories about The American Legion and Post 19’s activities: Dona Smith, Sheila Smith and Allison Cryer from the Jennings Daily News; Tony Betts from the Louisiana Legionnaire; Dennis Hart from the 7th District Newsletter; and Laura Y. Edwards from Legiontown USA. Post 19 also received the State Multimedia Award, Division 3, for articles, stories and other Legion-associated works approved by National American Legion Headquarters and submitted to national venues for publication.
